The main road through my town has been under construction for months now. It has been completely torn up and rebuilt, widened and smoothed, and improved with signage and a center lane for turns. Most of the work has been done at night, which has caused a lot of people to lose some sleep, and even during the day there have been delays, detours and a lot of bumps to navigate over and around. The project has been very expensive, of course, but will benefit many when it is complete.
It’s nearly complete now–the final striping and crosswalks are being put down tonight.
I am hoping that this is a metaphor for my own road to the future, which has been under construction for months at great expense and inconvenience and has caused me a lot of sleepless nights and frustrating delays. I hope I’m coming into the home stretch where the barriers are removed and I can once again roll forward unimpeded.
