A weekend away

I’ve spent this entire weekend logged off Facebook and didn’t look at any of the major news sites that I check daily during the week. I needed a break from both coverage of recent and current events and anticipatory anxiety about 12/21/12 (which is going to be just another ordinary day, trust me).

well informed vs sane

Sometimes we all need to step away from the daily crisis feed and focus on other things–any other things. I played with my dogs, took some pictures, talked to my folks on the phone, and corresponded with my friend in Portugal. I slept late and went to bed early. I listened to music. I took long showers. I watched the snow fall.

It was a good weekend, away.
