This has to be the most magical, mesmerizing percussion performance I’ve ever seen.
According to the notes on the video, “Top Secret Drum Corps is a precision drum corps based in Basel, Switzerland. With 25 drummers and colorguard members, the corps became famous for its demanding six-minute routine performed at the Edinburgh Tattoo in 2003. With its invitation to Edinburgh, Top Secret became one of the first non-military, non-British Commonwealth acts to perform on the Esplanade at Edinburgh Castle.”
Not quite Irish for St. Patrick’s day, but since I’m Norwegian and German, mostly, with some Swiss as well, this holiday doesn’t do much for me!
If you need a little Irish fix, though, here’s a nice catchy drinking song with some pretty pictures of the wee island itself.
May there always be work for your hands to do;
May your purse always hold a coin or two;
May the sun always shine on your windowpane;
May a rainbow be certain to follow each rain;
May the hand of a friend always be near you;
May God fill your heart with gladness to cheer you.
