About

Lisa Shaw

I am, among many other things, a reader, writer, editor, photographer, blogger, foodie, enthusiastic home cook, dog lover, and domestic engineer. I dote unapologetically on my miniature Schnauzer, take photographs with a Nikon (and increasingly, an iPhone), write with a fountain pen every chance I get, blog on both a Mac and a PC (but never both at the same time), and keep a really clean house. Anything else you might want to know about me can probably be found somewhere in one of my posts.

I started writing for publication as a contributor to my junior high school’s newsletter, where I learned to type on a Royal manual typewriter. My first 35mm camera was a Pentax K-1000, which is like the Model T of SLRs. I wrote and took photos for my high school newspaper and yearbook; was a photographer, writer, and copy editor for my college newspaper; majored in news-editorial journalism; and was a reporter and photographer on first a semi-weekly and then a daily newspaper for a couple of years. Every job I’ve ever held since has focused on written communication, and some of them even let me take pictures, too.

Please respect my copyright on my own words and images and do not use them without attribution.

Thanks for reading!

    • Awww … you are too sweet … thanks so much to both of you for everything you are and everything you do. You are, as they say, the wind beneath my wings.

  1. Well Done! You have been awarded a Grade 3 BlOgcean Award from us! Your one of a group of the first ever to get this award, so we would be grateful if you could spread the word about us! If you want to know more about us and your award go to: http://blogceanawards.wordpress.com/
Keep posting on your great blog! And go on our Blog to nominate someone else’s blog too if you feel like it!

  2. Found you by being Freshly Pressed but I plan to continue to follow after reading a few of your posts. I really like your writing style and think if I made extra cookies and you were in the neighborhood I would share with you! Lost and Found was a post I could totally relate to. Congrats on the FP!
